WE CAUGHT ANOTHER DEALERSHIP SELLING AN ACCIDENT-DAMAGED VEHICLE as “CERTIFIED” & ACCIDENT-FREE! — Salas v. KEYH, Inc dba Keyes Hyundai, et al

Our client purchased a Hyundai Certified Pre-Owned (“Hyundai CPO”) 2013 Hyundai Optima from Keyes Hyundai, in Van Nuys, California. Prior to purchasing the vehicle, our client alleges he asked Keyes Hyundai if the certified vehicle had ever been involved in any accidents, and Keyes Hyundai said it had not. Later, our client discovered tell-tale signs of accident damage and requested Keyes Hyundai repurchase the vehicle. It refused, and our client turned to the Auto Fraud Legal Center for help. We filed a lawsuit in Los Angeles County Superior Court against Keyes Hyundai and Hyundai Motor America, alleging the dealership committed fraud and sold the vehicle in violation of California law, including the Song-Beverly Consumer Warranty Act and Vehicle Code. Expert inspection determined the vehicle had likely been involved in multiple pre-sale accidents. The case settled when Keyes Hyundai and Hyundai Motor America agreed to repurchase the vehicle, pay additional damages of $20k, and pay our client’s attorney’s fees and costs.
