Valencia v. Lithia of Stockton, dba Nissan of Stockton
Plaintiff alleges Nissan of Stockton, located in Stockton, California, ripped her off by telling her she must pay to have her 2015 Nissan Altima “certified” as a Certified Pre-Owned vehicle. Plaintiff paid for an “Optional Certified Pre-Owned Wrap” service contract, which Nissan of Stockton represented was the cost for Nissan CPO certification. Plaintiff alleges customers do not pay directly for certification of vehicles, that is a cost the dealership pays the manufacturer after inspecting the vehicle pursuant to the manufacturer’s inspection checklist.
