Sanchez v. Camacho Auto Sales
Did you know that Buy-Here-Pay-Here dealerships have to follow rules that don’t apply to other car dealerships? Buy-Here-Pay-Here dealerships must provide you with a warranty. And they must tell you the Fair Market Value of the vehicle, in writing. Sometimes, dealerships will pretend to sell “Certified” cars to avoid following those rules. Our clients purchased a supposedly “Certified” 2007 GMC Yukon from Camacho Auto Sales in Palmdale in Los Angeles County. Within two weeks, the vehicle had no power and couldn’t be driven. So these consumers turned to the Auto Fraud Legal Center for help. We filed a lawsuit in Los Angeles County Superior Court alleging Camacho’s Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) program is illegal under California law, and further, that the vehicle is a “lemon.” We also allege Camacho Auto Sales failed to comply with the consumer laws that protect people from Buy-Here-Pay-Here dealerships.
