Hunt v. Carnet – DEALER FAILS TO PAYOFF TRADE-IN
DEALER FAILS TO PAYOFF TRADE-IN
Our client alleges that: on or about January 5, 2019, he contacted Carnet, in Escondido, County of San Diego, He told Carnet he was interested in purchasing a 2008 Ford F-250, but he would need to trade in his 2017 Ford Focus. After our client provided information on his trade-in, Carnet confirmed that it would definitely be interested in purchasing his 2017 Ford Focus as a trade in. With that assurance our client went to Carnet and purchased the 2008 Ford F-250 and traded-in his 2017 Ford Focus. In addition to selling our client the F-250 with a broken exhaust manifold, our client did not receive the license plates or tags for the 2008 Ford F-250. Furthermore, Carnet failed to payoff the remaining balance on this Ford Focus trade-in.
