Garcia v. Cabral Chrysler Jeep Dodge – Manteca City, San Joaquin County

Case settled. Clients purchased a 2016 Dodge Journey, VIN: 3C4PDCAB2GT246629, from Cabral Chrysler Jeep Dodge (“Cabral CJD”). After the purchase, Cabral CJD forged the purchase documents to increase DMV fees from $15.00 to $23.00. But then Cabral CJD demanded $245 for DMV fees and threatened our Clients’ credit. Cabral CJD was forced to repurchase the Dodge Journey for a confidential amount. Overcharging DMV fees is becoming more popular among a certain class of dealerships. There is no justification for overcharging certain fees since the correct amount can be usually be obtained from the DMV’s website prior to purchase and the Vehicle Code mandates dealers refund any overcharge.
