Dealer’s MUST Properly Disclose a Vehicle’s History
Our client purchased a 2013 Hyundai Sonata from Airport Marina Honda, in Los Angeles. Before purchase, the dealership allegedly showed our client a Carfax vehicle history report, which showed the vehicle had previously sustained damage. However, our client alleges that while he was reviewing purchase documents, the dealership had him sign a Used Vehicle Disclosure, which did not indicate the vehicle had been involved in an accident or that it was previously used as a rental vehicle. The dealership also allegedly did not provide our client with the Carfax vehicle history report after sale.
Our client then acquired a vehicle history report, which showed the vehicle had sustained damage and that it had been previously used as a rental. In California, a dealer is required to disclose if a vehicle was previously used as a rental vehicle. He reached out to the Auto Fraud Legal Center for help.
After reviewing all the sales documents, we determined the dealership appears to have misled our client about the vehicle’s history. We have filed a lawsuit in the Los Angeles Superior Court to protect our client’s rights.
