DEALER HAS NOT DELIVERED TITLE TO SOLD CAR IN OVER A YEAR
Alaniz v. Ganas Auto Group
In this case, on January 2, 2018, our client purchased a used 2012 Chevrolet Silverado from Ganas Auto Group. Ganas is a car dealership located in the City of San Fernando, in the County of Los Angeles. Our clients allege Ganas Auto Group is a buy-here-pay-here dealership. Buy-here-pay here dealerships provide their own financing for many of the cars they sell. Under California law a buy-here-pay-here dealership, is required to provide a specific warranty with the sale of its vehicles and post the “Reasonable Market Value of this Vehicle” on the cars, trucks and SUVs it offers for sale. Our clients allege that the terms of the warranty for the 2012 Chevrolet Silverado did not comply with the legal requirements. Under Ganas’ warranty the consumer would be charged $99 every time he sought to use the warranty. Additionally, our client claims Ganas Auto failed to affix at Reasonable Market Value sticker when offering the 2012 Chevrolet Silverado to him. Not only does our client claim these violations occurred, but it has been over one year and our consumer still does not have a registration or license plates for the 2012 Chevrolet Silverado which Ganas Auto Group sold to him.
