Another Certified Pre-Owned with Prior Damage?

Our client was shopping for a Certified Pre-Owned BMW because of the extended protection the certified warranty provides and the thorough inspection the vehicle allegedly undergoes before it can be sold as “certified.” So, our client went to Century West BMW, in Los Angeles County, and purchased a Certified Pre-Owned 2016 BMW I3.

Century West BMW did not provide our client with a certification checklist, listing all the components checked. Although our client did not know it at the time, it is a violation of California law not to provide a checklist for a CPO vehicle. This was a sign of things to come. Later, our client went to sell the vehicle at another dealership, where he was told that it had been involved in an accident.

Shocked, he called The Auto Fraud Legal Center for help. Rosner, Barry & Babbitt’s attorneys are experienced in cases where the dealer and/or manufacturer mispresent the vehicle’s history and mislabel the vehicle as “certified.”
