HONDA “CERTIFIED” – REALLY?

Gjokaj v Honda In May of 2020 our clients went to Alhambra Motors Inc., dba Goudy Honda in the city of Alhambra, County of Los Angeles looking for “certified” pre-owned car. They wanted a safe, reliable vehicle with no known problems for personal, family and household use.
Our clients’ complaint alleges Goudy’s representatives showed them a Honda Certified Pre-Owned 2019 Honda Civic which Goudy was offering for sale. Our clients also allege they asked Goudy about the history and condition of the Vehicle and Goudy told them the Vehicle had no accidents, no damage and, for proof, gave Plaintiffs a CarFax report indicating no accident damage.
In addition, Plaintiffs also allege they were given a copy of a Honda Certified Pre-Owned 182-point Inspection Checklist (“CPO Checklist”) as proof the Vehicle had been thoroughly inspected according to Honda’s standards.
Almost immediately after purchasing the 2019 Honda Civic our clients allege they experienced rough idle, pulling problems, rattle noises and/or scratches and marks on the body and took the Civic in for repair.
Our clients’ complaint goes on to allege, after attempts to fix the problems were unsuccessful Plaintiffs contacted American Honda directly. Thereafter, Plaintiffs took the 2019 Civic to a different Honda dealership for an inspection. This Honda dealership informed Plaintiffs that Vehicle had sustained impact damage which had not been properly repaired and showed mismatched paint. Despite informing Honda of this fact, Honda refused to repurchase the vehicle.
Plaintiffs reached out to Rosner, Barry & Babbitt, the Auto Fraud Legal Center for help and we have filed a lawsuit to require Honda to repurchase our client’s 2019 Honda Civic

Lilia Guizar was my attorney in a recent fraud case and I am so impressed with the outcome. The process was quick and easy. We even countered the first offer to get what was fair and I’m happy to say that the car was picked up today, I am free of that burden and I feel validated for all the time and money wasted trusting a dealership that took advantage of me. This legal team is amazing! Yes our case took time but they were always ready to answer any of our questions and we had a lot! They helped us every step of the way. nobody really wants to deal with going through all of this but they made the process a lot easier to deal with we can't give them enough praise!!
