DID HERTZ SELL “CERTIFIED” NISSAN WITH FRAME DAMAGE?

Arechiga v. The Hertz Corporation – Stockton (San Joaquin)
Our client alleges that in February 2020, he bought a “Hertz Certified” 2016 Nissan Altima from Hertz’s used-car lot in Stockton. California law forbids the sale of cars with frame or structural damage as “certified.” However, when our client tried to trade in the Nissan to Shift, Shift’s mechanics found the Nissan had frame damage, and so Shift would not accept the Nissan. Since our client had not been in any crashes with the Nissan, the Nissan’s frame damage should have been discovered by Hertz during its certification inspection, yet Hertz allegedly ignored the evidence of damage and illegally sold the Nissan to our client as “certified.” If you’ve been sold a “certified” vehicle with prior accident damage – including frame damage – please contact david@rbblawgroup.com.
