Alexander v. Mecum Auction Inc., et al – Los Angeles

LAPD IMPOUNDED THE VEHICLE TO PROTECT CONSUMERS. Santos Lagunas, owner of Valley View Motors, was the mastermind behind the scheme to fake a 1959 Volkswagen 23-Window Samba and sell it to an unsuspecting consumer. The case settled with the Defendants refunding Mr. Alexander’s money, paying legal fees in exchange for Mr. Alexander returning the Vehicle. Moments after Mr. Alexander surrendered the Vehicle to Mr. Santos, Los Angeles Police Department Officer Brian Glick intercepted the Vehicle and took it to the impound to prevent Mr. Santos from tricking another consumer into purchasing this unsafe, fake 1959 Volkswagen.
