Leonard M. Kolakowski earned his law degree from the University of San Diego, School of Law, in 1980 and was admitted to the California Bar that same year. Mr. Kolakowski began his career in the field of business litigation for law firm of Ralph Gano Miller, APLC, in downtown San Diego.

After 5 years of practice with Mr. Miller’s firm, Mr. Kolakowski, became assistant general counsel for Kaypro Corporation. After 3 years with Kaypro Corporation, Mr. Kolakowski was recruited to become general counsel for the franchisor of Soup Exchange restaurants. In serving as in-house counsel, Mr. Kolakowski’s role included supervising outside litigation counsel as well as advising corporate officers and directors on transactional matters.

After 7 years with Soup Exchange, Mr. Kolakowski returned to the field of litigation, practicing in the area of Lemon Law as an associate with his long-time friend and senior partner, Hallen D. Rosner. With the assistance of Mr. Rosner, Mr. Kolakowski thereafter worked with the Utilities Consumers Action (“UCAN”) and Channel 8 News, serving as the Director of the UCAN “Fraud Squad” assisting consumers in resolving various issues with a variety of businesses.

Mr. Kolakowski went on to become a partner in a firm practicing in the area of lemon law and later was invited to join the Auto Fraud Legal Center as an associate counsel.

In addition to numerous lemon law cases, Mr. Kolakowski has experience in handling automobile fraud cases as well.
